APIFS Experts Headlined Construction Industry Council Master Classes on Systems Thinking & Digital Leadership
Hong Kong | 7 May 2025 – The Asia Pacific Institute for Strategy (APIFS) announced that its Research Director, Dr. Mark Lee, together with Dr. Mark Enzer OBE, Director of the Centre for Digital Built Britain at the University of Cambridge, served as keynote speakers at the Construction Industry Council’s CIC Master Classes – Systems Thinking and Digital Leadership, which took place on 7 May 2025.
The Master Classes brought together senior executives, engineers and project owners from across the built-environment value chain. Participants explored how systems thinking and digital leadership unlocked productivity, sustainability and whole-life value in infrastructure delivery.
“Construction projects today are complex, interconnected ecosystems,” Dr. Mark Lee said. “By applying systems thinking, leaders can align technology, people and processes to achieve transformative results—faster, greener and at lower total cost.”
During his session, Dr. Lee outlined APIFS’s latest research on Systemic Agility, a framework that helped organisations map feedback loops, mitigate cascading risks and orchestrate multi-stakeholder collaboration.
Dr. Enzer, a pioneer of the UK’s National Digital Twin Programme and former Chief Technical Officer of Mott MacDonald, presented on leading in an era of interconnected data infrastructures, highlighting how digital twins, common data environments and open-source standards redefined asset design, construction and operation.
