APIFS CEO Forum Welcomes Equinix Operations Director Ben Li to Share Insights on Innovation and Leadership
“Future-Ready Operations” highlights how organizations can spark ideas, sustain progress, and build a culture of innovation through leadership and disciplined execution
【Hong Kong, 19 March 2026】 - The Asia Pacific Institute for Strategy (APIFS) was honored to welcome Mr. Ben Li, Operations Director of Equinix, as a featured speaker at the APIFS CEO Forum, where he shared valuable insights on the theme of Innovation and Leadership. In his presentation, Future-Ready Operations: How to Spark and Sustain Innovation, Mr. Li explored how forward-looking organizations can embed innovation into daily operations while strengthening leadership capabilities to support long-term growth and resilience.
During the session, Mr. Li introduced Equinix as one of the world’s leading digital infrastructure companies, with more than 260 data centers across 33 countries and a strong track record of strategic growth, sustainability leadership, and operational excellence. He emphasized that innovation in operations is not simply about adopting new technologies, but about creating the right culture, systems, and leadership environment for people to continuously improve and contribute meaningfully.
A key highlight of Mr. Li’s sharing was his framework for cultivating a creative culture through three stages: Preparation, Development, and Completion. In the Preparation stage, organizations empower employees to identify problems and generate new ideas through internal communities, expert roles, skills sponsorship, and reporting initiatives. In the Development stage, innovation is reinforced by performance evaluation, career progression criteria, funding support for improvement projects, and internal recognition systems. In the Completion stage, organizations expand impact by converting successful initiatives into best practices, partnering with industry stakeholders to demonstrate new technologies, and sharing knowledge through professional institutes, conferences, and awards platforms.
Mr. Li also shared practical examples of how these principles have been translated into measurable results. These included a range of energy efficiency projects, operational optimization initiatives, and sustainability-focused improvements across Equinix facilities, as well as external knowledge-sharing activities such as technical seminars, media events, school visits, and industry conferences. His presentation further highlighted multiple professional awards and recognitions that reflect Equinix’s commitment to innovation, sustainable operations, and excellence in execution.
For APIFS members and participating executives, the session provided an important reminder that leadership today must go beyond strategy formulation. Effective leaders must also be able to build an environment where ideas are encouraged, teams are empowered to act, and innovation is sustained through structure, discipline, and shared purpose. Mr. Li’s concluding message, “Spark Ideas. Sustain Progress.”, captured the spirit of the forum and resonated strongly with the audience.
APIFS extends its sincere appreciation to Mr. Ben Li for his inspiring and highly practical sharing. His presentation contributed meaningful perspectives to the CEO Forum’s mission of equipping business leaders with fresh insights, practical frameworks, and future-oriented thinking to navigate an increasingly complex business environment.
